I agree, but watching 2 and 3 it's sort of like they watched the first one and tried to concentrate on what could possibly be construed as cheese like I'll buy that for a dollar or running rope around the legs of a robot, decided that was the cash cow to milk, and then just concentrated on making the sequels as cheese as possible. Even Robocop's walk got corny in the sequels, it's really amazingly terrible film and really makes me wonder what they were thinking, as far as how they were to satisfy the audience.
