Let me explain. Some years ago I received a certain item from a londoner, a rather famous londoner around here I must say. Part of the item had a narration saying it was specially made for me, myself and I, a.k.a. Pi, but his pronounciation of "pi" was grotesque, at the least...

These three last days I've been watching the BBC series "Life", probably the most spectacular images I've never seen in a documentary. At the end of each episode, there's a mini-making of where you can see the team filming the images, and hear them too. When I am able to discern what they are saying, the pronounciation I hear clashes with the pronounciation I have stored in my brain, clashes which cause my head to spin and leave me confused and irritated.

Hence, I'm as confused as when I hear a londoner speaking english. Because what they speak is english, but doesn't really sound english to me I guess someone who knows some spanish would have the same problems listening to a galician(*) or anyone in southern spain.

(*) True story: I was speaking with a galician guy when I was doing military service in '91. He was a new addition to the crew in the tug boat they slaved me in. So this guy starts speaking to me and I stop him "hey dude, I don't speak galician". And he replied "I'm not talking in galician, I'm talking in spanish".
