and the first half of the movie wasn't all that bad, if you can excuse the retarded premise. It was entertaining and even my wife was enjoying it, although she couldn't really understand it (remember she's Japanese and we saw it in English).
The last 15 minutes or so just got stupid though. The ending could have been so much better. All in all, I'd give it a solid 5 stars out of 10.
As for Roper giving it a half of a star... I stopped paying attention to those idiot critics when they gave The Good Son two thumbs down. I quite enjoyed that movie and it was the first movie in a very long time, that made the audience jump out of their seats and applaud (when the mother dropped her son off of the cliff so she could save the other boy). How the hell can you bash a movie so hard that has such an emotional effect on the audience?
Lucy might not be one for a regular priced theater, but if you're in a town with a drive-in, or you see it pop up on a streaming service, I'd recommend you watch it at least once. That is unless you just HAVE to look at it logically/realistically; in that case, don't bother.
Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!
