Yeah, variations on this have been around since the 80s. The crash diet does allow the body to eat away at the fatty tissue on the pancreas. The only issue is that you are in-taking way less calories a day than you need, and eventually the diet becomes unsustainable. Temporary reprieve in symptoms, yes. Cure...nope.

It's pretty much the same for me. I was a string bean growing up, and the minute I started putting on even a slight bit of bulk as a teen I started showing signs of sugar issues. If I crash diet or go into a workout phase I'm super for a few months, but then I have a really bad month if I stop.

Sweets go straight to some peoples hips, but go right to my pancreas it seems.

Again, it isn't all that bad. You get used to dizzy spells and forgetfulness. The shakes and cold sweats and everything else are easily fixable. The only symptoms I really hate are the tin mouth and antifreeze mouth, depending on if I'm high or low. Haven't passed out since before I was diagnosed, and rarely need to stab anymore. You figure out how to control it pretty quickly.
