Fundamentalists have been around for centuries. I can't recall any "disasters" that have befallen the country due to Christian fundamentalists... Maybe you can help me with that.
Also, why do you fear them? Are these types of people known to harm or kill people? I'm talking about large groups, not lone individuals. Since there have been some people that have claimed to be under the influence/direction of "Satan" whenever they killed people (so you can't pin it solely on any "Christian").
I'm going to guess that your supposed fear is irrational, which would put it into a category of a phobia. & like Yoda said;
