That doesn't makes sense (to me -anyway). You'd think if that were the case they could just make the hole slightly larger either by stretching the hole or make an incision in/by the hole that's already there.
But from what I've read or maybe heard on T.V. somewhere a long time ago - tongue splitting is mainly for performing cunnilingus (better). But, I could be misinformed. Regardless, that's what's in my mind and it seems about right, so....
