I just sold a complete 44-card 2013 PAX Prime CAH set on Ebay for $300 less than 24 hours after listing it. I'm currently trying to sell a second set for $400 this time. I figure that as fast as the first one sold, I must have underpriced it.
CAH gave out a limited amount of 10-card "booster packs" at PAX Prime in Seattle, WA last year. I bought a ton of packs for absurd amounts of money on Ebay to complete a set for myself as well as a few for resale. There are 10 cards in the set that are "rare". Each booster pack has only 1 rare card, assuming the shitbag selling it on Ebay hasn't cherry-picked the rare card (which has happened to me a few times). So you need to buy a lot of packs and hope your luck is good to get a set. I put a set together for myself, sold one, and if I sell this second set (the third one I assembled), I'll be close to breaking even.
I'm actually 2 cards away from a fourth set, and another 4 cards away from a fifth set, if I decided to keep buying overpriced booster packs, but at some point, I need to stop and sell off the extras and break even. Plus, it looks like the supply of booster packs is starting to dry up anyway.
I wish I could find someone with a decent stock of the "rare" cards that was willing to trade for my "rare" cards, but most people are sitting on their shit like it's made of gold or something.
