That would make every Spider-Man movie shit, rather than some of them. The Running Man would be the biggest crap-fest ever conceived, rather than being a typical Schwarzenegger film. I don't even mind that the NEW Star Trek Movies do it.
A fresh start gets a fresh start, out with the old as long they don't claim to be building on it.
Actually, I guess it still bothers me that that movie was called "Scarface," when it ignores completely the actual, real historical inspiration for the original. So there's still some threshold there, somewhere.
