I finally read this... *time for me to vent about my own problems*

Last week we get all of our equipment upgraded (e.g. changed out for new stuff).

First off, I admit I should've done this sooner, but I needed to copy off some files from one of the computers we were going to get rid of. My USB thumb drive was at home.... We get the new hardware in, I leave a note on one of the old towers saying; "Please don't throw away yet, Thank You." And what do I find when I get back to work (after my 2 days off)? The tower isn't there... I check out in the dumpster. Sure enough it's there. It had even been raining. But it wasn't that wet.

I took it home, used a heat gun on it to try to dry it out... I was able to get the files from it onto the USB drive. So that turned out okay.

But the very fact that, even though I left a note on the thing, and it still got thrown out felt like I was being given a middle finger.

The other thing was that there were some other equipment items that were still in good shape. The only things destroyed were the hard-drives from the server (they were... screwed -you might say). The other things thrown out were 3 IBM keyboards, and 2 IBM laser mice (mouses?). The keyboards had their wires clipped off, and I never seen the mice. I asked the guy who would've been the one to throw them out "Hey, did whatshername have you throw out the keyboards and computer mice?" to which he replied; "Yeah, but I don't know why."

Before I asked him I asked her (the manager) if they thrown those things out, and she acts dumb saying "....uh, I'll have to ask him." <-- she knew she told the guy to throw them out!

It makes you wonder if some people aren't very bright or if they're just mean.

ETA: I was told I was going to get a raise and that it would be on my most recent check... It wasn't.
