Confirmed. Other Data East games with a H6280 sound CPU have similar issues; e.g. when the flamethrower enemies in Crude Buster fire and when the chainsaw-wielding boss in Robocop 2 attacks. Maybe an interrupt or timer bug in the H6280? Last time I tried debugging it I gave up in frustration
