I am dying for Mame 149u1, as the Birdie King 1-3 games are fixed. It has been over a month since 149, and I understand it is the middle of summer and a lot of people are doing other things instead of spending time in front of their computer. To pass the time, I started playing around in Mame. My all-time favorite go to game is classic Pac-Man. Love the hacks (Hangly-Man, NewPuc2 etc...), but I needed something different. Yes, I have HBMame with a full set of roms as well, but like a true excessive-compulsive, I still needed something new and exciting. So I fired up Turaco and Age and started making a new hack, but that dint last long either. For the record, I am the one that made NewPuc2 and the Original Pac-Man After Dark that has become a pretty popular game.

Anyhow... Sorry for the babbling... What I ended up doing was playing classic Pac-Man and using the cheat in Mame, changed the ghost behavior to that of the Ms. Pac-Man ghosts! WOW!! What a difference!!! Inky (Red) does not go right up to the upper left corner at the start of each board. He will come right down to you! This makes the game so much more fun and challenging!! Add to that the option to un-restrict the places that the ghosts can not go, and you have a GREAT game of Pac-Man!! New life for a 30 year old relic!!
