Some files / data are difficult to back up / store on paper. e.g. video, audio, etc. For some files / data, paper is really only useful as a history / archive, because it can be out of date almost as soon as you print it. e.g. work in progress source code and documents.
I feel for ya Stiletto ... It's a real kick in the nuts when you lose a hard-drive and don't have recent backups. Only ever happened to me once (ages ago).
I've donated a little $ to you, but I recommend getting an external USB drive and configure the auto-backup options for what you need, and also setup auto backups to some cloud storage. These will not 100% guarantee safety, but they will help.
