You know, I don't know. He brought it to me yesterday, showing me that it won't boot at all. I asked him for his recovery disk, which he said he didn't "get around to making." So I handed it back and told him to call his tech support.
I know I could be more instrumental in helping him fix it... but he bought it against my advice... then didn't follow my advice to make the necessary recovery disks. It's still practically new, so I'm sure it has some warranty... In another year he'll be a "grown man" and off to college, so... I'm leaving this on his shoulders.
