I used to work with one, and found her modus operandi quite disturbing. She would write a spec, build something that met the spec precisely, then pat herself on the back for a job well done ignoring whether it solved a real-world problem or not. More often than not you ended up with software that didn't actually do what it needed to, and when you re-wrote it to actually work properly, you'd end up with about 20% of the lines of code afterwards. Lots of code achieving nothing at all. She was dropped in a round of redundancies.
