Potential fix:
To "fix?" it, search /src/emu/sound/tms5220.c for the line:
|| ((OLD_FRAME_UNVOICED_FLAG == 1) && (NEW_FRAME_UNVOICED_FLAG == 0))
and delete it wherever it occurs. it should occur twice.
Recompile, and tell me if you think the tie fighter sound is fixed after that.
