hmm, maybe you should simply switch to mameuifx, and just force games which run over 60hz, to run at 60hz instead
basic set up:
install and launch mameuifx (latest beta version 0.147u4)
settings:
under sound tab: tick 'synchronize audio with emulation speed'
under advanced tab: tick triple buffer
under display tab: un-tick throttle
ps. im using a crt tv set at 60hz here, so i actually force ALL games in mame to run at 60hz using mameuifx eg. rtype at 55hz i just force it to 60hz (i dont care if it runs a little faster, its no big deal (to me anyway))....
