I am guessing that Penn and Teller were in on it, because the mechanic he used for this trick is not too hard to figure out. Also, note the use of the "force". He reduced the number of possibilities for the card from 52 (53, if you count the joker) to 48. (Pay very close attention to the wording of the questions to the audience members.)
