When I signed into youtube, it forced a file download called watch_ajax.xml.
Ok, fine, prolly just a data file for my watching habits... but that's a guess...
Do a search for what is watch_ajax.xml, and "strangely" enough Google won't cooperate and find anything USEFUL that tells you what it is... so I tried some competitor search engines, and it seems to be a pretty effective blackout of links which will explain why youtube requires downloading a file to my computer on sign-in... which is weird, because normally you can look up almost any obscure file or extension you find on your computer, and somewhere someone knows exactly what created it and what EXACTLY it does... PLUS usually someone decides rather it's "safe" or not. Not in this case. Lots of useless links explaining what an .xml is in general (duh), and lots more links which only say that You Tube downloads the .xml to your computer (double duh). Purpose, people. Rational. Motivation. What makes this watch_ajax.xml tick, where does it like to go for sushi, and most importantly, what is the meaning of its life?
