Dunno, I saw it in 2D, and it was definitely enjoyable. Not only that, the local theater where I met my friends wasn't even digital projection (like I usually do). Felt pretty retro to see 24fps flicker and film grain too. 
On the other hand, if you're going to see Cloud Atlas, I should think IMAX would be epic and worth the upgrade.
PS. Wreck-It Ralph is one of those you should wait until the end of the credits (which are fun, quasi-Pixar anyways)
