I really, really enjoyed the film - what with the constant retro shoutouts, I was in heaven! Definitely recommend you guys see it in theaters when you can. I will probably end up seeing it again.

Were it any other subject matter, this may have been a rental - as a "kid's" movie - but I felt I had an obligation as a "gamer", and I wasn't let down. I lost count of all the details they threw in for the oldtimers - definitely going to need to buy the Blu-Ray/DVDs on this one. Probably the best "videogame movie" of all time.

I definitely see a Super Mario Bros./Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter/Wreck-It Ralph movie marathon in the future.

Just don't go in expecting a Pixar-type movie. Despite John Lassiter's production, it is indeed a Disney movie, and a Disney-type movie. I had a few friends elsewhere who apparently hadn't paid attention to marketing and thought they might see some deeper commentary on characters being programmed versus free will or something like that, and other than some crude discussion on the nature of bad guys versus good guys, that just didn't happen. So lower your expectations a bit to Disney level and you should have a really good time.
