Actually, you can play it with an horizontal screen thanks to this option: "Switchable between vertical (TATE) and horizontal controls (YOKO)".
It rotates the controls. Ok it won't be a vertical shooter anymore and writings will be hard to read. But it's a nice feature nonetheless.
