It may be the "champion > edition" is an NVRAM unlock. Setting the country code to UAA shows "645JAC" at startup, and the US title screen. Setting it to JAA (or JAC) shows "745JAA", which I guess is the champion edition. Nothing so far has produced a Japanese 645-version. It's possible that there's a version JAA hard disk that is the original Japanese release.
