Best place to leave a car overnight?

So, I'm going to an out of state bachelor party next weekend. I'm meeting up with some friends half way. I'll drive an hour and save them a 3 hour detour. We're meeting in a little Indiana town off the Interstate. I'm trying to decide where I should leave my car. It'll need to be parked about 30 hours. I don't have a nice car. It's a beat up 2002 Saturn, so I'm not worried about anything except getting towed.
I think I have 3 choices.
- Wal-mart. It's right off of the interstate. Open 24 hours. I hear many wal-marts even allow overnight RV parking/sleeping.
- Try to find a residential street to park on.
- Park at a hotel/motel off the interstate. Do hotels still ask for vehicle type/license plate numbers?
