You know i have heard this for some time now.MAME launches in the blink of an eye on my velociraptor 15k HDD.But it also launches just as fast from my 7200 rpm drive.2 weeks ago I got a 128gb SSD drive and MAME launches no faster then the 15k drive.

Honestly OP,if money is a issue,forget the SSD and grab a 3tb 5900rpm(which will most likely be cheaper then a 128gb SSD) drive for storage of your roms.Or put the extra $$ towards a better processor.Launch MAME from whatever drive you are using as C (or your fastest current HDD)
