Well, technically no.
The volume change came about when the actual BSMT2000 was emulated rather than being simulated (MAME 0.141u1). All games which use it across the board are a bit quieter than before. You can help it by starting with -cheat and using the slider to adjust the BSMT2000 left and right volumes to 2.00 (instead of 1.00), or change it manually in your source before you compile. Otherwise, you just have to work out some volume increase solution on your cab.. not sure what else to say.
