It's an SNES CD-ROM! It's an arcade laserdisc port!

It answers the question, "What if the Super Famicom had a CD-ROM drive?"
It's also an interesting way to preserve a laserdisc arcade game while using slightly newer hardware to run it. It isn't an arcade emulation but an interesting port nonetheless.
If anything a SNES CD-ROM-based game would've trounced the lesser Sega-CD. But Nintendo wanted absolute control of the CD-ROM hardware offered by Sony and blew that deal. Thus, what would've been the Super Famicom CD drive became the Playstation.
