Because they are dumb @#$%!^&* If they were that irresponsible and stupid to put their kid in there, they probably didn't have the common sense to try or think to pull the chord.

I wouldn't be at all suprised. Did you see how as soon as they got the kid out, they ran out of the place? They probably didn't want to get in trouble with the police and have their kid taken away from them. But if the police winds up tracking them down and finds out who they are and they get arrested, then that's when I can definitely see them trying to sue.
I hope the kid winded up being okay.
