I'm not sure whether my HDD is dying or if my power supply is inadequite but regardless, I get a strange problem with my OS disk. For some weeks it works fine, but some days it seems to act like the power was pulled on it, click and shu down before spinning ages whilst windows 7 freezes for a short while trying to access the disk. It works after some time but often once that happens it can either shutdown again very quickly or take a fe wminutes, and sometimes it repeats for longer than others. Sometimes it only does it when I open my DVD-Burner but whilst it's burning it works fine. It's the only HDD to do it and it has got some read errors on the SMART record, and even though I'm sure I have a high enough wattage it just seems too bizare to call the issue. I don't have access to any other disks or PSUs to find out though.
Likely ideas?
