From the little I've seen and been told, you have to be careful in the marrying of your gears and tranny. In highscool, a neighbor kid had a 70 SS Camaro with a modified 350 and 3:73 gears. He'd take big blocks off the line, sometimes beat 'em to the end.
That may've been one reason why we didn't get boned one day when he wasn't paying attention at a light and jumped into the intersection in the middle of it.
A few years ago, I was visiting my brother in L.A. (He's always driven pretty fast. He averages 100 on the freeway.) He was driving a Lincoln LS at the time. We're going through town, and he decides to jump from the light, next to a Jeep. Jeep fucking blows our doors off!
Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.
