Sorry, you grew up before there were such things as viral videos and "media strategy, design and consulting agencies" run by hipsters who drive clapped out Corollas.
The flip side is that none of your mistakes ever spread beyond your immediate family and friends. If you *really* did something stupid, maybe the entire school knew about it, but that was it unless you managed to make the evening news. Today's kids have to worry about their every little fuckup or bad choice being broadcast globally.
I, for one, am grateful. If I had grown up in the era of YouTube and ubiquitous video cameras, I almost certainly would have been inadvertently responsible for at least a dozen memes before I hit 18.
