Have you tried DOSBox? http://www.dosbox.com/

Plays nearly every DOS game, some titles require more config tweaking than others - depending on your perferences. But really it is not difficult to use at all. POP and nearly every title I own from the 80's and early to mid-90's works without a problem all under an i7 with Windows 7 64-bit.

Graphic filters including TV-Mode and many others make the games look great on a modern display.
