I like wheelofwhat... another great random decision maker... so is Adult Wheel of Fortune... if you're into that kind of thing.
ihandy Carpenter... or the free version "ihandy level free" is just useful.
Camera Awesome is great upgrade to the base camera.
Flashlight is useful too, especially when looking for a keyhole at night

Key Ring Rewards keeps all your discount key fobs in your phone, werks great, way easier than a giant keyring of plastic fobs.
Tuner&BeatMaster is great for guitar practice
Magic guitar is a slick knock off of guitar hero
GPS by telenav is handy if you dont have your gps with you.
GasBuddy helps me out, since gas is so expensive... finds the cheapest gas near you.
Shazam is just plain WTF! How's it do that?
Movies by Flixster is my favorite "whats playing" app.
Free WiFi Finder is a must when you're out on the town.
PCalc is the best calculator upgrade I found.
Google translate saves me, living with a multilingual wife (what's she saying to her mother now?) Word lense is slick for mexican spanish.
The Galaga 30th Collection is ACTUALLY playable and fun, unlike the Midway Arcade.
Coin dozer is mindless fun.. got for free as an appaday
Plants War addictive as hell
If you're a mahjong nut like me, you need NHN Japan Corp's "Mah-Jong", don't need to read japanese to play if you already know how, and also get SG Mahjong by gamefront Singapore.
