When I was a kid I used to go to the World of Wheels custom car show every year, and the "program" they sold every year was a magazine called Hot Rod Show World which was basically just pics of cars (and bikini babes). The first time I saw the Pacman rod was when it was featured in the 1983 or '84 edition.
I never noticed that the engine was mounted transversely in the back like that. I wonder if it was even tied to the wheels at all? In the early 80s, I don't think there were any transmissions for that configuration capable of handling the power of a V8.
