Do you really feel that way? Maybe "progressive" would have been a better label than "liberal"?
Most of these legislative agendas are pushed through based on some aspect of them that sounds like a good idea on the surface (stop piracy), but the underlying theme is to limit the freedoms of general citizens in order to achive the supposed altruistic goal.
It's not an arguement that piracy should be legal, it's an argument that civil liberties shouldn't be so readily given up for what seems like a noble cause on the surface, because once those liberties are gone, it's even harder to get them back. It's a slow nawing decay enabled by a passive population.
I would think the crowd here at MAMEWorld would be pretty fired up about at least this particular issue... in general everyone here seems like pretty internet savy freedom minded types. IMHO the loss of liberties is a far greater tragedy than the supposed issue progressive legislation is claiming to address, and we bring it on ourselves by electing such "progressive" minded reps. Anywho, I'll quit the bitchin.
