Very sad to hear this. I've been a Type I Diabetic for 30 years myself. Not fun. Not easy to control, and so many bad consequences. (Yes, I know I'm not doing things to help this. No need for another lecture).

The sad thing is, so many people don't understand the massive difference between Type I and Type II Diabetes. Yes, they are both called "Diabetes" but they are COMPLETELY different diseases. Type II can be controlled by diet and exercise. Type I can ONLY be controlled by medication.

Slowly, the diabetes I've had for 30 years is killing me. Granted, living with it for 30 years is amazing considering how if I was alive and had this 100 years ago, I'd have died shortly after my pancreas stopped making insulin.

If anybody has the chance, donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. At this time, there still is no solid evidence about what causes Type I Diabetes to happen, and therefore it's not really possible to cure it. Only treat it. Even the most careful treatment and attention on the planet can't stop the progression of the disease.

I'm going to die from something diabetes related. I just pray that it happens before the nasty side effects kick in.
