It's weird, I almost can't comprehend the idea of not being able to handle myself in water. My grandparents/aunt have had a pool since long before I was born, I've been swimming in it literally as long as I can remember. I think my mom may have even taken me to one of those baby swimming classes when I was an infant. I never really formally learned any swimming strokes, I just kind of paddled around. I've probably only been swimming 3-4 times in the last 5 years, but I am 100% sure I could still keep myself afloat long enough to get out of trouble if I fell in deep water, unless there were other factors (cold, injury, etc.).
