Is there profanity in Back to the Future? I haven't seen any of them in a long time, but my recollection is that they were pretty mild PG.

The general procedure would be to load the ripped video into a video editor, edit the offending sections of the audio track, then re-encode the video with the edited audio. I don't know much about free video editors, though. It's not a terribly intricate operation, maybe something like Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 would be adequate? The tricky part will be making sure you have the right codecs to import whatever format(s) you have now and to export to whatever format the DSi needs.
Other options - maybe you can find a torrent of an existing sanitized version? There has to be a network TV cut of all three movies floating around somewhere. I know there was a company selling cleaned up versions of popular movies for the conservative Christian market. They had a lot of trouble with the MPAA, though... no idea if they're still around.
