So the occupy protesters have perpetrated violent assaults on innocent people, to include rapes, fractured skulls, and more with hundred having been arrested. They've yesterday managed to shut down an entire shipping port with violent clashes with police. No labels from the media about the violent terrorist radical occupy movement.
Back up a year or so, with the peaceful tea partiers who raped no one, fractured no one's skull, burned nothing, and disrupted no commerce, and no mass-arrests but who the media kept slathering with labels of "radical" "violent" "terrorist" and "dangerous".
An old highschool chum of mine is down there, keeps sending me posts of all the good work he's doing for "freedom." I'm like, "I don't see it Matt. You can't ask the government to come in and take over free trade and call it freedom. That's called state control. Those two are polar opposites." I love him for his enthusiasm but it's so misguided. Yes, the economy is in the tank, but due to TOO MUCH government intervention, not too little.
The biggest "corporation" by far that is "greedy" and "stealing from the people" is the government. You can't take your "business" elsewhere, and they enforce their confiscation of assets with the threat of law. It's a monopoly whose budget is in the TRILLIONS! What corporation comes even close to that potential for waste and abuse?
From my observations, the tea party and the occupy protesters both want the same things... "freedom" but the occupy protesters just don't know how to articulate and comprehend their needs... they see the government as the instrument of their freedom, not its obstacle. Crack open a history book. Name one "people's moveemnt" or one "labor movement" that didn't result in a totalitarian state-controlled government.
