question about Playstation network on PS3

I'm currently testing out a PS3 that doesn't belong to me. I want to check out the Playstation network, but I need to make sure that the PS3 can be wiped clean with nothing tied to its serial number or anything like that since it will probably be resold sometime in the future.
Is there a way to wipe a PS3 clean with no record that it was used online?
