No apologies necessary! Pretty much anyone who is a fan of classic gaming or computing greatly appreciates you thinking of preserving your collection.
And no worries talking about MESS here. There really isn't much of a stigma about it. The only thing I can think of is people blaming it for taking MAME's developers, and that's so not true it's hardly worth mentioning.

The Dumping Union is getting pretty darn good at dumping, and with luck will be able to handle the entirety of your collection.
