You already got the correct answers, you just didn't like them. The 2 tools to clean a grill after / before use are high heat and something to scrape with. This is what everybody uses. You don't bring pieces inside and polish them. And if you do that in front of guests they will probably call your wife into the room for a demonstration to prove you aren't gay. If something rusts you either scrap most of it off and deal with it or you replace the part. Heat and scraping each time and when ashes build up in the bottom you put them in a trash bag. That's it. You can use fancy cleaners on the outside of the grill if you want.
