the other day I went to the bank to cash my paycheck. It was a near 100 degree day around noon. I walk up to the bank entrance and a pretty feeble old woman with a cane was approaching the door. I held the door for her (as is instinct for anyone really I would hope) to which she immediately replied "aren't you the sweetest thing? Thank you dear."
I held her umbrella over her too as she walked to her car with her husband waiting inside.
Seeing that grateful smile was so rewarding for doing what for me was pretty natural to do anyway. Growing up with 3 older sisters, my dad always made me open the doors for them and pull out their chairs at the table.
