That is damned good to see. I kind of did something like that last year. I was up in Fenway Park watching a Yanks/Sox game that a friend of mine somehow scored incredible tickets to. (7 rows behind the first base dugout). I'm a Yankees fan so of course I had my NY Yankees jersey on (#10, a jersey I've had since I was 8 and back then it was more like a nightie on me) and my Yankees cap. As expected, I was getting ragged on and called various foul things. I think it was in the first or second inning, and there was a foul ball that came bounding into the area where I was sitting. Not hit all too hard so I had plenty of time to react. A kid who seemed to be about 7 years old and decked out in Red Sox gear had his glove held up trying to catch the ball, and a bunch of adults tried to catch it and of course, none of them did. The ball bounced off their hands and basically came right towards me so I caught it. That was pretty cool, and I took a look at the ball and was like "eh, I have dozens of these at home. Not a big deal." Seeing the kid sitting back in his seat with a completely bummed look on his face, when I got up to grab a beer in between innings I just walked down a few rows and gave the ball to the kid.

After that, all the cursing and verbal assault on me stopped and the Sox fans there gave me a nice little gesture. One of the Sox fanatics there came up to me and said "You know, I wish every Yankees fan out there was like you. I guess not all Yankees fans are douche-bags." When I got back to my seat with my beer, I saw three beers sitting on the ground in front of my seat. I guess some of the people in the area bought me a beer for giving the ball to the kid.

I just wish more people out there had the same type of decency. It doesn't cost you anything to be nice, but it can make someone else's day. The person who gave the ball to the little kid in that video just earned himself a boatload of good karma.
