Actually, all Namco System 1 games are pretty bad performance-wise - especially since the last memory core changes in 0.142u3. It's one of a few edge cases which needs some work before the performance issues can be sorted out.

Until then, I'd suggest using 0.139 if you want to play that game or games in the driver at sufficient speed.
