I get a lot of use out of Steam. Manuals have been getting pathetic in recent years, even for console games, so I find myself caring less and less about the box and physical manuals. Hell, I remember when Ultima included a cloth map!

I've picked up a few things from GOG as well. Personally, I like GOG's lack of DRM, but I like Steam's integrated additional features quite a bit too, especially for modern games with online components. I've used Steam's offline mode a few times in the past as well, especially on my previous netbook.

Like you, I wish I could take more of my retail purchases and transfer them to Steam. I've got a boxed copy of the complete Unreal set I'd love to attach to Steam, for instance.
