Anyway, finally pleased along with other Pirates fans of being able to witness a competitive squad since 1997 season. But this season's team has better players on the team compared to the 1997 team. It would be amazing if they reach postseason, but more realistic chance is finally going over 80 wins and maybe have a winning season after 18 years.

The GM years from 2003 to 2007 were awful with dopey Dave running the operation. At least former owner McClatchey has left and current owner is willing to pay a bit more money for signing better draft picks compared to previous management. It took trading away decent players from previous years in order to get some of the current rookies that are producing such as Morton and Tabata.

Still slowly purging out the remaining past problems such as needing another season or two to be done with paying remainder of Morris' expensive salary that dopey Dave traded for.

Make sure Kevin doesn't buy Cubs or else same thing will happen just like Pirates. Or even Dodgers now that McCourt is still ruining Dodgers franchise.

Beware that Dave is now on Cubs staff. Don't give him keys to handling GM duties like he was doing with Pirates team from 2003 to 2007 in case Hendry is ousted as GM at end of the season.
