Greetings! First let me start by saying thanks to all the developers for all the hard work.
I'm not sure if this has been reported. I noticed that the oversample x/y values has been removed from mame.ini and are not used anymore or configurable by the end user even if the lines are added back manually.
The default value now seems to be set to a high value >2 if I'm not mistaken since the performance has definitely taken a hit now in 0.142u5 when compared to the previous 0.142u4.
I have two LCD monitors: one with a native 1440x900 resolution and one with a native HD 1920X1080 resolution.
@1440x900 resolution with HLSL enabled MAME runs everyting @ 100% but @1920x1080 with HLSL enabled in 0.142u5 MAME runs everything at 70% and struggles.
In the previous 0.142u4 with oversample set to 1 I did not have this problem and everything ran at 100% @1920x1080. and I can only mimic the same slow performance in previous 0.142u4 by increasing the oversample to 2 or higher, that is why I suspect that the default oversample value has now been increased. And it seems that the performance is resolution depended in my case in 0.142u5.
quick spec: 3Ghz core2duo, NVIDIA 8600 GT, 64bit official commandline MAME etc.
I would appreciate any information regarding this issue. Many thanks in advance and cheers.
