Whoa, nice find. The sub-$1000 Sandy Bridge article from last month is pretty interesting.
Is there any reason not to consider a Core i5 or even a Core i3? krick's suggestion is interesting (and cheap!) but I'm thinking something current generation is a better idea in the long term.
