Current MAME convention is to make the international release of the latest update the parent. See it all over the place, like Fighters Impact A being considered the parent of Fighters Impact, and Magical Date EX being considered the parent of Magical Date. May or may not make sense to you, but that's the current convention. You'd have to at least give Kale a blowjob if you want it changed.
