I've made a bunch of network cables and let me tell you, I will NEVER make a cable again unless I have these. They're called EZ-RJ45 connectors. The hardest part of making cables is getting all your wires cut to just the right length so that they all get crimped properly. You also have to make sure that they're not too long or the back of the connector won't be able to crimp on the insulation properly. These EZ connectors let you push the wires all the way through so it's stupid-simple to get nice results without having to fuck with them for an hour. They actually make a crimping tool that crimps and trims the wire at the same time, but you can just trim the wires with a razor knife when you're done if you don't have their tool.
